Kenneth C. Bateman is a Contributer to Self Directed Investor. Ken is the author of The Brookside Letter, a model portfolio newsletter with a focus on a research-intensive, concentrated investment theme. Ken is also the author of ''Scribbler's TSP and Economic Comment,'' an macroeconomics newsletter targeted to participants of the Thrift Savings Plan. Prior to starting his current business, Ken was a Captain in the United States Army.

Ken earned a Bachelor of Economics from the United States Military Academy, and an MBA from Troy University.
