September-3-2010 Morning Notes - Futures flat ahead of economic data releases this morning, namely, nonfarm payrolls - European mkts up (<1%) following eurozone economic data releases - Eurozone retail sales: +0.1%; prior was +0.2% - Eurozone PMI: 55.9; prior was 55.8 - UK PMI: 51.3; prior was 53.1 - China PMI: 57.6; prior was 56.3 - Japan's Q2 Capital Spending: +1.7%; prior was -11.5% - August Nonfarm Payrolls: -54K vs. -105K; prior revised up to -54K from -131K - August Nonfarm Private Payrolls: +67K vs. +40K; prior revised up to +107K from +71K - August Unemployment Rate: 9.6% vs. 9.6% - August Average Hourly Earnings m/m: +0.3% vs. +0.1% - Futures spike on nonfarm payrolls number; S&P futures now up about 14 handles from FV - Meanwhile, treasuries getting hurt on the nonfarm payrolls number - ISM Non Manufacturing at 10a- probably won't have a big effect on market in light of solid ISM Manufacturing number on Wednesday - Expect today's volume to be extremely light ahead of Labor Day weekend... and on that note, have a great Labor Day weekend!
